Pre-Construction
Our estimator reviews the project drawings, specifications, and scope of work, performs materials takeoffs, estimates labor and equipment needs, and calculates total costs. A formal proposal or bid is then submitted, outlining pricing, timelines and inclusions/exclusions. Once we are awarded a project, the pre-construction phase focuses on careful planning and preparation to ensure a successful build. During this stage, project requirements are evaluated, designs and specifications are reviewed, materials are selected, and schedules are Established.
Crowley Masonry utilizes Trimble Sketchup to model projects and collaborate on details, allowing coordination between project managers and field staff, essentially building the project prior to ever working on site. Sketchup also allows for greater accuracy in materials, therefore eliminating much of the waste. Below is a sample from Sketchup of the New Glarus Brewery Co expansion in 2025.
